Starboard Stand Up Paddle Board Extremist for skilled users on bigger waves
9' and 9'8 Extreme SUP's

9'8"x30" and 9'0"x30", As our sport grows, the talent of the riders is also growing rapidly.
I was talking with my Nephew in Australia who has been riding SUP for less than a year, now he is ready to ride bigger waves and wants a board that he can turn rail to rail faster.
These boards are still stable paddlers due to their 30" width but they demand a slightly higher skill level to be able to get the full potential out of them. The shorter length means that they do not build speed as quickly while paddling as the longer models. Also shorter boards will tend to turn with each stroke, great for turning on the wave, but harder to build straight line speed you need to catch smaller waves.
These boards feel more like surfing a shortboard. With instant acceleration, the shorter shapes allow you to pump down the line with powerful, driven cutbacks and rapid response.
They wil still Glide onto tiny waves once you get the knack of building speed on the shorter length board, and they comfortably handle the speed of taking the drop on larger waves.
For flat water paddling, these boards are not as much fun as the longer boards as they will not "track" in a straight line so well. You have to change sides when paddling more often. Of course this maneuverability is a bonus in larger surf. For small mushy surf the longer boards extra speed and "glide-on" will get you more rides.
Due to thier compact size, these models are the boards of choice for Scott McKercher and Margeretta as they travel around the world windsurfing and Stand Up Paddle Surfing and River Cruising for travel TV shows.
